I just picked up the Big Agnes Hotel 3 bikepack tent. I was thinking the Big Agnes Copper Spur UL 3 Tent. But with the big vestibule, short poles, and it being cheaper, I decided on the Hotel 3. I haven’t been able to use it just yet thought.

The MSR Hubba Tour 2 is a new tent that meets all the requirements (can be set up in the rain) for a good motorcycle touring tent. That or the MSR Hubba 2 NX with a gear shed.

Followed this post from Facebook and once again good points for selecting a tent. You did forget to mention tents with vestibules for the bike, you know there’s a certain type of motorcycle that can’t stand the elements 😉

I would add that us motorcyclists should consider not purchasing from companies who donate to groups shutting down responsible vehicular access to our public lands. The Redverz is a good tent but what puts it outside the use for longterm travelers and overlanders is the weight and size. 6kg is a lot of weight and it’s size makes it not really suited to be packed in a pannier.
6kg does not sound like much but when you are packed up those kilograms adds up very quickly.
For a short trip or a week they are good but for long trips and if you want to keep weight down Redverz tents are not really the thing to take.

I use a Redverz Atacama because
a) I like being able to stand up while dressing vs. doing yoga
b) If I’m stuck in the rain for a day or two I have room to move around

It weighs 6 kg (13 lbs) and packs into a large stuff sack.
