I’ve always loved the motorcycle, as a young man I rode to ride with family and friends. As we all got older, that all faded. I’m the youngest of 6 boys. There’s only 3 of us left. Out of the 3 of us, I’m the only one that ever had motorcycles. In 2015 I turned 62 years old, I bought my first Harley Davidson. I have rode this motorcycle more than any other motorcycle I’ve ever had, and I rode it alone with no other riders on long trips. The wife is afraid now that she’s older. In early February 2024 I turned 71, I’m a native New Yorker, I haven’t lived in NY since 1988. I now live in Virginia Beach, VA. I have rode to Tennessee and back, to Northern Pennsylvania, they’re not very long rides. But they’re longer than any rides I did as a young man. I’m retired almost a year now and ready to ride to Florida to visit family, not Daytona. I have very little interest in Daytona. I thought about riding to South Dakota to visit one of my sons. I gave in to my wife’s wishes, I don’t regret my decision, I respect my wife’s feelings. We lived in South Central Pennsylvania for 28 years, I did have a motorcycle but never went very far. My sons and I got into ATC’s and then ATV’s. I have my ATV 22 years, and I have no doubts about taking it anywhere to ride. I love the words I have read here. I’m inspired by them, and happy for the people who enjoyed their time traveling on their motorcycles. Which is why I shared my experiences.

One thing that motivates me to keep traveling when I'm depressed is to ask myself:
If death came looking for you right now, where would it find you?
Living the life others want you to live, or living the life others want you to live?
This question is of my own making
