Leatherman Charge ALX

Leatherman Charge ALX

This tool has been an invaluable part of our kit. In fact if we had to list the top 5 absolute must have items which to pack and have our Leatherman tools
There’s not much I can say other than there’s only one brand to consider when choosing a multi tool! None of the other TV hero brands come close with the quality and durability of a Leatherman tool. Not only does it take the place of many other tools, it is also strong and extremely well manufactured and with the lifetime warranty not much can beat it.

The places we travel and go to we do not have the option of tools failing on us. Things must work and we have to trust the tool will do the job every time. I have yet to have a Leatherman tool fail on us. Okay, I have broken bits and pieces but the tool has never failed me when I needed to use it.

As we only carry the absolute bare minimum of tools to keep weight to a minimum our Leatherman tools must do the duty of a few tools. Which of course from a weight point of view can save 1kg worth of tools.

One of the best versatile multi tools .
One of the best versatile multi tools .

We purchased the Charge ALX which is the adventure model in the range. It can do most jobs, from wire cutting or electrical stuff to saw down tree branches. The precision of the needle nose pliers is so well manufactured with close tolerances it allows you to trim your nose and ear hairs for that fresh just cleaned up out of the bush look.

With this particular tool we were able to leave pliers and other tools behind in our quest to save on weight and also pack as compact as possible.

The 25 year warranty is a real bonus as these tools are normally abused!

“The Leatherman Charge ALX swaps out the Charge AL scissors for an aggressive cutting hook on the back of the serrated blade. Rip through tough materials like seatbelts, linoleum and leather with no problem. Get your hands around the Charge ALX’s unbeatable ergonomic grip, outside-accessible blades and premium materials like 154CM and 6061-T6, anodized aluminium.”
